Here's what we discovered...
As soon as ecoBuilding was controlling the heat pump, the system ran like a breeze: quietly, efficiently and with good comfort. As soon as ecoBuilding was switched off with the switch, - (ecoBuilding has a switch that always allows the system to be switched off) -, the heat pump suddenly started to oscillate. Due to this continuous switching on and off, the system not only lost energy unnecessarily, it also caused the heat pump to wear out, which meant it had to be replaced early. This insight was a real eye-opener for us, and the reason we advised COA to leave ecoBuilding on, and renew the subscription.
35% saving on electricity consumption
The fact that with this intervention we immediately saved 35% on the heat pump's electricity consumption was of course also very nice for COA, in times when the environment and energy saving are high on the social and political agenda.
